Research Methods

Face-to-face Research

We have considerable experience in face-to-face interviewing and regularly conduct hall tests, street surveys, specific location and in-home interviews.

Particular uses of face-to-face research include:

  • Exhibition research
  • Product testing
  • NPD research
  • Pricing studies
  • Design/ packaging research
  • Concept testing
  • Exit surveys
  • Pre/ post advertising awareness/ effectiveness
  • Usage & attitude surveys
  • Customer satisfaction studies
  • Pre-press campaigns
  • Pre & post PR effectiveness

Using this methodology ensures high quality data, makes targeting/ screening possible and can be conducted in short time scales. However, this method can be expensive, the questionnaire cannot be too lengthy, contain sensitive issues and should not be used if the population to survey is small.

The New Fieldwork Company (NFC), a highly experienced fieldwork agency with whom we have had close links for many years, is commissioned by us to provide interviewing services. NFC is a member of The Market Research Society's Interviewer Quality Control Scheme (IQCS) and has a national field force of over 1000 interviewers.
